I think of that upstairs room in the Publishers Association when it was in the Georgian house because that was where it began for me. I just think of that hubbub, that gathering of people  with their name badges on just all chatting, and just such an energy, such an energy and such an enthusiasm and such a genuine desire to meet people, talk to them, find out what they’re doing. A genuine desire to talk and to listen to, without it being deadly serious, it wasn’t, you know, without it being sort of po-faced.  That mixture, that mixture, that mixture of energy and enthusiasm, and being gracious and encouraging, and all-encompassing.
