5 Nina Shandloff on rejecting calls for WiP to become 'PiP'

Transcript:

At one point there was a question being raised about the name of the organisation and its function. Should we be women only? And someone asked me, as an old hand, what did I think? And I said ‘Well,’ I said  ‘if you wanted to change it from WiP to PiP, People in Publishing, that sounds awfully like pipsqueak to me. It does not sound like anything I would bother to get out of bed for’. There is The Society of Young Publishers, there is The Galley Club, There is the this and that . There are a lot of organisations that are for people in publishing at whatever level of their career or age or whatever and that’s fine. I don’t happen to want to put any of my time into them.

And if WiP was PiP then I would not be in it
