3 Sue Bennett remembers discussion about being a women-only group
Transcript:
I remember a really big debate about were we going to be a women’s group or not?
And there were people who were for and against this. It didn’t feel that we were in such a bad position after all. What message were we sending if we excluded the men? Didn’t we want the men to be on our side?
And I can remember, what one of, I can remember so vividly, there was a panel, a fire panel, in the door, and I can remember there was a fire panel. And we were having this conversation, quite a heated conversation about whether there should be men or whether there should be men and women and so forth. And I can remember three senior managers’ faces in this fire panel gooning at us, going ‘Nah, nah, n’nah, nah, bleh, bleh’. And I said, ‘Look behind you, I think we need to be on our own.’
